This course has 8 impactful sessions!

Session 1: Foundation of Levels of Leadership

In this foundational session, you’ll explore what it truly means to be a leader in God’s eyes—beyond titles, positions, or popularity. Using the lives of Saul, David, and Solomon, this lesson reveals that leadership is a sacred assignment, not just a role. You’ll discover that God Himself puts leaders in place for a reason, and that the heart of leadership is rooted in relationship, responsibility, and reverence. However, it also highlights the dangers of spiritual irrelevance—how a person can hold a leadership role and yet be completely ineffective when disconnected from God’s heart. As you unpack the five levels of leadership—from people following because they have to, all the way to following because of who you are—you’re challenged to evaluate your current level and strive for growth. This session urges you to lead with integrity, resist pride, and remain aware of how easily the perks of leadership can blind even the strongest leaders. With timeless wisdom and practical insights, it sets the stage for transformation by calling you to lead not just with skill, but with God-honoring character.

Session 2: Rehoboam, Jeroboam, and Abijah

This session dives into the critical moments faced by three kings—Rehoboam, Jeroboam, and Abijah—revealing how every leader encounters defining choices that shape their legacy. You’ll learn the importance of surrounding yourself with wise counsel and the danger of listening only to voices that tell you what you want to hear. Rehoboam’s failure to heed godly advice caused division, showing that insecurity and pride can destroy unity. Jeroboam, driven by fear and self-preservation, demonstrates how a leader’s choices can set destructive patterns for future generations. In contrast, Abijah stands firm in the face of overwhelming odds, relying not on his own strength but on God’s promises. Through these stories, the session emphasizes that true leadership requires courage, discernment, and a heart anchored in God. You’ll be challenged to examine your own influences, leadership patterns, and where you place your trust when pressure mounts.

Session 3: Asa

In this session, you’ll journey through the life of King Asa, a leader who broke destructive family patterns and chose to pursue righteousness. Asa teaches that no background is too broken for God to use—a powerful reminder that each of us has the choice to change direction and lead with purpose. You’ll see how Asa relied on God during overwhelming battles and used seasons of peace to build and restore. His early courage and devotion brought national reform, but his later years warn of the danger in drifting from dependence on God. Asa’s story reveals that principles must always outweigh politics and personal ties, even when it means making difficult decisions, such as removing his own mother from power. This session challenges you to remain consistent, remember what God has already done for you, and never lose the passion to lead with integrity. Through Asa, you’ll gain insight into the kind of leader who attracts others not just by words, but by faithful action.

Session 4: Jehoshaphat

Session 4 follows the reign of King Jehoshaphat, a leader who chose to walk in the righteous footsteps of those before him and experienced God’s favor as a result. You’ll see how his decision to seek God brought peace, protection, and spiritual revival to his kingdom—even when surrounded by enemies. However, Jehoshaphat also made critical errors by forming unholy alliances with ungodly leaders, showing that even the most faithful can be compromised when they don’t guard their associations. This session highlights the tension between honoring relationships and maintaining godly convictions, urging leaders to be careful with those who seek to use their legitimacy for selfish gain. Jehoshaphat’s leadership was marked by justice, accountability, and a heart that brought people back to the Lord. As you reflect on his story, you’ll be encouraged to follow good examples, seek God’s wisdom in relationships, and remain faithful to the calling God has placed on your life—no matter the pressure.

Session 5: Jehoram, Ahaziah, Athaliah, and Joash

This session explores the dramatic contrast between corrupt and courageous leadership through the stories of Jehoram, Ahaziah, Athaliah, and Joash. Jehoram’s reign began with bloodshed and jealousy, revealing how leadership rooted in insecurity and destruction always ends in downfall. Ahaziah, heavily influenced by ungodly counsel, shows the danger of immaturity and manipulation in leadership. Athaliah’s ruthless grasp for power led her to destroy her own family, proving that rebellion against God brings chaos. Yet, in the midst of this darkness, hope arises through Joash, a young king protected and mentored until the right time. You’ll see how righteous disobedience—like hiding Joash—can be an act of obedience to God. This session reminds you that godly leadership does not emerge from confusion, control, or fear, but from conviction, courage, and timing. You’ll be challenged to examine your influences, reject manipulation, stand firm in your principles, and prepare for the season when God calls you to step forward.

Session 6: Joash

In this session, the focus returns to King Joash, highlighting the vital role of mentorship in shaping a godly leader. Joash thrived under the guidance of Jehoiada the priest, showing that wise mentors can help leaders touch the future and influence entire nations. However, Joash’s downfall after Jehoiada’s death reveals a sobering truth—leaders must grow beyond dependence on others and learn to hear from God themselves. Without this personal connection, Joash fell back into destructive patterns, forgetting the kindness shown to him and even ordering the death of his mentor’s son. This session also confronts the “spirit of an orphan”—a mindset marked by insecurity, fear, and a lack of spiritual identity. Though Joash was surrounded by love and opportunity, he chose the path of his broken heritage. You’ll be challenged to evaluate your spiritual maturity, honor the role of mentors, and embrace your identity as a child of God. It’s a call to lead from a place of healing, not hurt, and to build a legacy that outlives any one person’s influence.

Session 7: Amaziah, Uzziah, and Hezekiah

This session traces the leadership journeys of three kings—Amaziah, Uzziah, and Hezekiah—each offering profound lessons on justice, humility, and spiritual resilience. Amaziah begins well by rejecting revenge and seeking justice, even correcting a costly mistake when confronted by a prophet. His story reminds us that great leaders are willing to admit when they’re wrong and trust God for restoration. Uzziah, though a gifted and successful ruler, falls to pride—believing his strength made him untouchable. His downfall warns that no amount of talent or power can excuse disobedience, and that pride isolates and destroys. In contrast, Hezekiah models the heart of a true reformer. He reopens the temple, leads national repentance, and responds to crisis with prayer, proving that a leader with a strong prayer life can overcome even impossible odds. This session calls you to reject pride, stay teachable, and lead from a place of surrender to God. It challenges you to let humility, not ego, define your leadership—and to become the kind of leader heaven supports.

Session 8: Josiah, Jehoiakim, and Zedekiah

In this final session, you’ll explore the lives of three kings whose leadership legacies reveal both inspiring courage and devastating compromise. Josiah stands out as a shining example of a godly leader who valued God’s Word above all else. Despite having no righteous role models before him, he led with passion, excellence, and bold reform—proving that your past does not define your future. Jehoiakim, on the other hand, allowed outside influences to change his identity and direction, showing how easily leaders can drift when they lose sight of their divine calling. Zedekiah’s tragic story is a final warning: rejecting God’s voice and resisting correction can lead to a point of no return. Yet even in the midst of failure, God remained faithful to His people by using an unlikely outsider to begin restoration. This session challenges you to stay grounded in Scripture, resist identity-shifting pressures, and walk in humility. Above all, it calls you to lead with wisdom—learning not just from your own mistakes, but from the hard lessons of others.
