How to gain access to the assessment or enrol for TEN courses at SATS

OPTIONS:

  1. Complete the BSOW Book with 2 Elective courses (Total 7) with TEN, then access the Assessment here for R175, OR
  2.  Purchase and complete 5 Core Courses and 2 Electives from the SATS platform at R350 each.

SATS-TEN Association

1. Association

Teach Every Nation (TEN) has granted the South African Theological Seminary (SATS) the rights to offer the Bible School on Wheels (BSOW) courses on SATS’s Micro Seminary platform.

SATS is an accredited online seminary that equips Bible-based, Christ-centred, Spirit-led leaders.

 

2. What is Micro Seminary?

Micro Seminary is a SATS platform offering non-formal short courses. It exists to provide high-quality theological training for people who love God and his Word, but who do not wish to sign up for a formal programme. This platform hosts short courses and micro-credentials, including the TEN courses.

3. SATS–TEN Certificate

The BSOW curriculum consists of three levels. Each level has five core courses and five elective courses. If you complete the five core courses and any two electives from a level through SATS’s Micro Seminary, you will earn the Certificate of Completion for the applicable Bible School on Wheels micro-credential.

If you complete a BSOW level directly through TEN, you may still earn the Micro Seminary Certificate of Completion for the Bible School on Wheels micro-credential by passing an integrated assessment designed by SATS. The aim of this assessment is to allow you to demonstrate your mastery of the materials. To earn the Certificate of Completion, you must pass seven quizzes, namely, the quizzes on the five compulsory courses and the quizzes for any two elective courses.

 

4. Recognition of prior learning (RPL)

The BSOW micro-credential is a non-accredited Certificate of Completion that can be submitted to SATS for recognition of prior learning into accredited programmes. The key points of this include the following:

a) BSOW 1, 2, and 3 are not accredited programmes. The certificate for completing an integrated assessment it is not part of or equivalent to a tertiary qualification.

b) The Certificate of Completion serves as a micro-credential, that is, it confirms that you have demonstrated competence in a small area of study.

c) If you wish to register for one of SATS’s accredited programmes, your BSOW micro-credential will be worth 24 credits into a Higher Certificate in Christian Life or a Bachelor of Theology programme and may be used as part of the portfolio of evidence when applying for a postgraduate programme.

d) If you complete more than one BSOW micro-credential, you may receive up to 24 credits for each one into SATS’s BTh.

 

5. What does it cost?

The Bible School on Wheels courses are all R350 (note that this will change annually) except for three free courses including:

a) BSOW1 Survey of the Bible

b) BSOW1 DISCover Yourself and Others

c) BSOW2 Anyone can Be a Great Motivator: Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime

 

6. How long are the courses?

On average, the BSOW courses require 10–20 hours to learn thoroughly (similar to the time required to read a 300-page book). You can finish it quicker if you need.
